Joy’s Picks for May 2022

I’ve noticed recently that no matter the topic, the concept of consistency always becomes part of the conversation. Whether I’m discussing our next family gathering, my daily routine, or Shore Magic, it always dovetails back to consistency.

That’s why this month I’ve included picks to provide that push to kickstart the changes you want to see. All it takes is a bit of consistency.

But remember, there’s a good chance one of these picks could become your next serious crush.

Eating your last meal of the day well before bed has become standard advice among many nutrition experts. It’s often been attributed to giving the body time to rest, digest and foster a better alignment with the body’s circadian rhythms, which dictate metabolic power.

This interesting study looks at one mechanism behind why we notice benefits from eating an early dinner. Eating late is associated with impaired glucose tolerance from decreased insulin production, which increases the risk of type 2 diabetes. Researchers found that certain genetic markers related to melatonin receptors also play a role in the possible risks of late eating. That’s one reason why a consistent approach to when you eat your meals is so important. Try it for a week and see how much better you look and feel.

Who said consistency can’t be fun?! Big hoop earrings have been making a comeback for a while now, but these squared off Versace Greco Hoop Earrings gives us a fresh new twist on an old standby. You could consistently wear these beauties for everything from a business meeting to a summer sunset.

“Brown Adipose Tissue Improves Whole-Body Glucose Homeostasis and Insulin Sensitivity in Humans”

We’re increasingly hearing about the health benefits of cold exposure. This study highlights that cold exposure significantly increased resting energy expenditure, whole-body glucose utilization, and insulin sensitivity through its effects on brown adipose tissue. This study used temperature-controlled clothing but there are simpler ways to use cold therapy in your own routine. You could incorporate cold showers, an ice bath, or even going outside in a t-shirt for a few minutes on a cold day.

Aside from the metabolic effects, practices like this are also linked to things like stronger immunity, improved mood, and reduced pain. It’s another activity where consistency is key. Remember, it’s always a good idea to check with your practitioner before starting a new protocol.

Versace Medusa Biggie Mules

This is my second Versace item of the month, but I told you consistency is important! These platform shoes are calling my name. The perfect marriage of comfort and class, with a lower heel that I just love.

Speaking of consistency, the easiest way to get your daily dose of Shore Magic this summer is with our Collagen Sachets. With our stir & go powder the Sachets let you add a bit of Magic whenever and wherever you want. Now you can stay consistent this summer, no matter where you’re headed.
